La Val'Heureuse is pleased to collaborate this year with Mariève Savaria, who will have fun at La Val'Heureuse taking plants out of the "preventive medicine" category to incorporate them into everyday cooking! With plenty of creativity and simplicity, she will offer drinks and food in our shared shop space, depending on seasonal arrivals.
Throughout the season, we will therefore offer several themed days that will showcase a few plants of the moment in a "food therapy" version. A calendar will soon be available with upcoming events!
Who is Mariève Savaria?
A mother of 3 children, author, speaker, and science communicator, Mariève Savaria taught cooking and the basics of nutrition in community settings in Saint-Henri and Petite-Bourgogne in Montreal, worked in clinical nutrition at the McGill University Health Centre, was the owner of an organic market garden with her partner for 9 years, and created a vegan catering service, Brutalimentation, which valued seasonal harvests.
For 4 years, she has been integrating the practice of presence and ritual practice into her nourishing approach and is currently following a 9-month mindfulness training to further root it.
Author of the book "La saison des légumes", market gardener, and nourishing woman, she practices giving meaning back to our existence through the gestures of harvesting, cooking, and nourishing ourselves. She is passionate about cultivating our relationship with the earth, and nourishing the precious (even sacred) link between nature and food by having fun creating from seasonal edible living things.
