Liquefies mucus, expectorant, antitussive, anti-infectious, antiviral and antibacterial
Organic Whole Ingredient: Horehound Marrubium vulgare, dried herb top.
The name marrube (horehound) comes from the Hebrew marrob "bitter juice". At all times, horehound has been used to control even persistent coughs and bronchitis. This bitter herb is also effective for stimulating the bile ducts and digestive tract. In Europe, it is found in some beers. Its high quality is that it can liquefy mucus accumulated in the airways and is also expectorant (expels secretions).
The white horehound has expectorant, antispasmodic properties and liquefies the phlegm. It is used for acute, chronic bronchitis, asthma, whooping cough, and especially for bronchitis with a non-productive cough. It helps to relieve coughs and is effective for bronchiectasis (pathological dilation of the bronchi). Its mucilage softens the mucous membranes.
Dosage: Infuse a full tablespoon in a cup of boiling water, cover, infuse 3 to 5 minutes and filter. Drink 1 to 3 cups a day.
Optional: Being a bitter plant, correct the bitterness by adding a little honey.
