History: It is one of the oldest plants on our planet. This primitive plant (the only one of its family now), whose origin goes back to the Carboniferous age (in the time of the dinosaurs), it was at that time an immense tree, it is now a vestige of the beginning of the evolution of the terrestrial plants. It has been used throughout the ages for its medicinal properties, most often as a diuretic or to treat arthritis.
Indications: Horsetail is traditionally used to facilitate the functions of urinary elimination and to promote better renal elimination of excess water (edema). Helps relieve rheumatic and arthritic pain. It is very rich in minerals; potassium and especially silica (40% of the plant, 10% of silica). Silica is recommended for demineralization symptoms such as hair loss and brittle nails.

Ingredient: Organic dried field horsetail Equisetum arvense, sterile aerial parts.
Dosage: 1 teaspoon filled in 1 cup boiling water, cover, infuse 10 minutes, drink 2 to 3 cups a day. (Drink enough water in addition to herbal teas)
Duration of use: Do not use over a long period (diuretic), 10 days, stop a few days, not more than 6 to 10 weeks.
In external use: Use this herbal tea to rinse hair after shampooing. Being rich in minerals and especially silica, it acts as a tonic for excessive dandruff, brittle hair or hair loss.
In compress, use herbal tea (10g of horsetail for 1L of water in decocotion) on wounds, healing delays, necroses or ulcers.
Soaking feet for perspiration of the feet.
In sitz bath to relieve hemorrhoids (80g of horsetail to soak 12h in 2 L of cold water, then boil a few minutes, remove from heat, filter and add to the bathing bath water, soak at least 20 minutes.
Precautions: Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have chronic kidney problems, heart or autoimmune disease. Do not use if you have edema as a result of kidney or heart failure. Do not use if you are taking diuretic medications.
