Astringent, diarrhea, hemostatic
The word astringent means; tightening of tissues or mucous membranes. Astringency is a property of certain tannins present in several plants, in wine or in tea, which gives the impression that the tissues of the tongue are tightening, impression of dry tongue. This effect is sought when there is a water or flow disruption; for example, diarrhea, enuresis, excessive menstrual flow, or bleeding.
Plants with astringent effects will help rebalance these flow overflows by tightening the tissues of the mucous membranes.
